Pair of socks
Best use a pair of thick and solid winter socks for this exercise.
Level 1: Place the sock under your foot the way you see in the picture, i.e. where the front of your shin bone meets your foot. Now sense how your foot touches the socks. Sense the temperature of the socks and how soft the pair of socks is. Depending on the material it will be more or less soft. And a coarse woollen sock will also have a different “touch” than a fine cotton sock.
Level 2: Next, start making tiny and very slow movements, as the arrow in the picture indicates – from one side of the foot to the other (“inside” to “outside” and back). People whose soles of the feet are very soft can place a rounded pebble into the socks to increase the effect. But make sure it keeps feeling good.
Then, place the foot on the ground again. Take time to sense.
Repeat with the other foot.
